Africare

I had the incredible opportunity to shoot the annual Africare Bishop John T. Walker Memorial Dinner.  This organization works to improve the quality of the people of Africa.   The dinner was fantastic, the entertainment was fun and festive, and the honorees were inspirational.

Firman and Magalie

Took a beautiful drive down the Eastern Shore to document the love between these two.  What a fun pair.  Beautiful and excited, these two were so fun to be around.

Rolling Thunder 2011

Every year Washington D.C. plays host to Rolling Thunder.  This is a massive motorcycle rally that starts at the Pentagon, circles the Mall, and ends at the Lincoln Memorial.  Usually, I just shoot at the Pentagon and then go home as the parade starts.  But this year I got to ride in the parade!!!  I was so excited to do this and boy oh boy it didn’t disappoint.  To top it off, the gentleman that I rode with was a master of his machine.  He handled that bike like he was attached to it.  I was totally fried by the end, but it was worth every minute.

Gotta Love a Man in Uniform

I had the pleasure of photographing the January graduation at the Dumfries Triangle Fire Department.  You can imagine my delight when I was asked back to photograph the attendants of their annual Fireman’s Ball.  The award recipients were lovely and quite gracious.  The party was so much fun and the dancing so energetic that I found myself joining in a few times.  I love these men and women who sacrifice their time, energy, and safety so that we may live safer.

Lily and Jayde

I LOVE Cherry Blossom season!  I was so excited when Lily contacted me about shooting her senior pictures during cherry blossom season.  She wanted a Japanese flavor to her photos, and because she is from Iowa, she wanted something totally different from what all of her classmates would have.  As we were planning her trip out here Lily asked if her friend Jayde could come out with her and shoot her senior photos as well.  Yay!  Two for one!  Jayde wanted something a bit more edgy than what Lily wanted so I took them over to this beautiful wall (From Edgewood to Edge of the World) that I see everyday from the train.  I couldn’t believe how much more beautiful the art was close up.  We finished up the shoot at the National Cathedral.  These pictures are the softest of the day, but they really showcase the beauty of both girls.
